### Prerequisites

- Set up your custom app that you want to access from Workday.
- Create the custom task that you want to use as an initiating action for your custom business process type. You must select:

    - The Worker business object
    - The Secured selection option.
    - No security domains for the custom task.

- Security: Custom Business Process domain in the System functional area.
- [Configure Domain Security Policies](/wcp_docs/obj1536188707340.html).

### Steps

1. Access the Create Custom Business Process Event Task Definition task.
2. As you complete the task, consider:

    Option

    Description

VPS App

The ID of the custom app you have created for your custom business process type.

VPS Site

The ID of the site you have created for your custom business process type. The custom app is the "site".

VPS Route

The route in your custom app to the page on which the event task will land. The route contains the path and the parameters for the destination page.

For event actions, you must use {eventId} at the end of the route.

For step actions, you must use {eventStepId} at the end of the route.

3. Access the Create Custom Business Process Type task.
4. As you complete the task, consider:

    Option

    Description

Target Business Object

You can select Worker as the Target Business Object.

Custom Object

You can select an effective dated custom object enabled for the Worker business object.

Enabled Event Actions

The available event actions are Approve, Send Back, Deny, and Cancel.

5. On the Initiating Actions tab, add a custom task that can be used to initiate the custom business process event.

You can add multiple initiating actions. The initiating action marked as Default is used when you launch the custom business process event if you don't specify an initiating action at that time.

6. On the Event Action Task Configuration tab, add an Event Action and the corresponding Event Task Definition that you created to use for that action.

You don't need to enable the Details event action to configure an Event Task Definition for Details.
