### Context

To protect the data accessed by the REST API endpoints on a page, specify the authentication type for each endpoint in the PMD file. Presentation Components support these authentication types:

Before you can specify any authentication type in an endpoint definition, first declare the authentication type in the Site Metadata (SMD).

The `siteAuth` property in the SMD contains the list of authentication types. The endpoint declarations in the PMDs reference the `id` of the authentication type.

### Steps

1.  <a id="step_N1004F_N1004C_N1001E_N10001"></a>In App Builder, open the SMD of your custom app.
2.  <a id="step_N10058_N1004C_N1001E_N10001"></a>Add a `siteAuth` subschema with the `authTypes` array.
3.  <a id="step_N10069_N1004C_N1001E_N10001"></a>In the `authTypes` array, add an item for each authentication type used by the PMD endpoints. For each item, specify a unique `id` and the authentication `scheme`.
