### Context

<a id="context_N10027_N1001E_N10001"></a>
When you preview a PMD in App Preview, you can connect to a Development or Implementation tenant to read and write data from inbound and outbound endpoints.

Connecting to a Development or Implementation tenant enables your app to:

- Behave the same way in App Preview as when it's deployed to a tenant.
- Read and write data from external systems.
- Use real data without having to set up mock data for all endpoints.

<b>Note:</b>

- When App Preview is connected to a tenant, the app invokes all inbound and outbound API calls. This might update data in your tenant or other systems.
- Connecting to a tenant doesn't deploy the app to the tenant. You can deploy the app to a tenant that's different from the tenant you connect to in App Preview.
- If your PMD uses model endpoints, model components must be deployed to the tenant before App Preview can display data.
