<a id="section_N10021_N1001E_N10001"></a>
Displays a video that's a stored media item in Drive, and enables you to embed media content in your Extend app. Workday doesn't count the content streamed through this widget towards the data usage entitlement.

Use `video` on view and edit pages.

<b>Note:</b> The `video` tag doesn't support audio-only media items.

## <a id="section_u3v_brf_4tb"></a>Prerequisites for Uploading Videos

- Use of the `video` widget requires an active subscription to Workday Media Cloud. Workday Media Cloud is enabled in Development Tenants for evaluation purposes. Ensure that you have an active subscription to Workday Media Cloud before promoting your app to ensure it will behave correctly.
- Security: <i>Manage: Media</i> domain in the Backpack Hub Service functional area.

## <a id="section_unv_xvf_1qb"></a>Uploading Videos in Workday

1.  Access Drive.

    You can access Drive from your user profile or the <b>View Drive</b> task.

2. Select <b>Add New</b> &gt; <b>Upload</b>, or drag one or more video files into the Drive page.

Consider these guidelines:

- Upload content that is properly licensed, business appropriate, and adheres to both [Workday Acceptable Use Policy](https://community.workday.com/aup) and [Workday Corporate Brand Guidelines](https://community.workday.com/BrandGuidelines).
- Workday supports most non-proprietary video formats. See the list of supported video file formats in [FAQ: Uploading and Viewing Videos](https://doc.workday.com/admin-guide/en-us/manage-workday/tenant-configuration/content-management/workday-media-cloud/emi1465576142536.html).
- The maximum video file size is 20 GB.

## <a id="section_tg4_bvd_bqb"></a>Getting the Workday ID of a Video

The `video` tag requires the Workday ID of the video. To get the Workday ID of a video:

1.  Access Drive.
2. Select the video file, and click <b>Info</b>.
3. The information window displays the Workday ID.

    You can click <b>Copy ID</b> and paste the Workday ID into the `video` tag in the PMD.

## <a id="section_llf_rnm_xpb"></a>Displaying a Video

To display a video, specify the Workday ID of the video in the `mediaId` attribute.

This sample `video` displays a video on a view page:

```
{
 "type" : "video",
 "id" : "commercial",
 "mediaId" : "cbf5ef5846cc01896c8cd4fe1b00a907"
}
```

If the `mediaId` doesn't exist, the page loads an empty video player.

The `video` widget takes the whole space of the container it's in. To adjust the size of the video, you can use a container widget such as a horizontal section. You can adjust the `columnWidthRatios` attribute of the `section` to try different sizes.

## <a id="section_qpw_1kc_ccb"></a>Attributes

-   <b>mediaId</b>

    Data type: stringScript

    (Required) The Workday ID of the video in Drive. Specify a valid Workday ID from Drive.

-   <b>id</b>

    Data type: stringScript

    Unique identifier used to reference this widget from other tags.

    Notes:

    - The `id` must start with a letter.
    - The `id` must be unique per page.
    - To enable other widgets to reference this widget `id`, place this widget before the other widgets on the PMD. The PMD validation returns an "Undefined variable" error if it doesn't find a previously defined `id` in the PMD.
    - Workday recommends that you include the `id` in your widgets and tag definitions.

-   <b>render</b>

    Data type: booleanScript

    If true, this tag renders as a widget on the page. If false, the page doesn't add this widget. The default is true.

-   <b>sortOrder</b>

    Data type: stringScript

    When you set `sorted` to true on the `section` or `fieldSet` parent of this widget, the `sortOrder` attribute determines the order of this widget within its parent. The sort order is relative to the siblings of the widget.

    Typical values are "a", "b", "c", and so on. Example: The widget with `"sortOrder": "a"` displays before the widget with `"sortOrder": "b"`.

    <b>Note:</b> The `sortOrder` doesn't apply to sorting data on the widget. `sortOrder` only applies to the placement order of the widgets within the parent widget.
