### Context

You can use the Workday Extend Plugin for IntelliJ to author context-free tasks in JSON. Secured users can use a context-free task to access your Extend app in Workday. Users can also find context-free tasks in global search.

### Steps

1.  <a id="add_business_object"></a>Right-click the `model` folder of your app, and select <b>New</b> &gt; <b>Model Component</b> &gt; <b>Task</b>.
2.  <a id="step_N10048_N10028_N1001E_N10001"></a>Author 1 or more context-free tasks for your app.

    <b>Note:</b> In order for the task to be context-free, remove the `"businessObject": "MyBusinessObject",` line from the template.

    Example:

    ```
    {
        "id": 1,
        "name": "CharityHome",
        "label": "Charity Home",
        "routePath": "/",
        "securityDomains": ["ManageCharities", "ManageCharitableDonations"]
     }
    ```

    The `routePath` must correspond to an existing `routingPattern` in the `tasks[]` array in the AMD file of your app. Example:

    ```
    {
          "id": "root",
          "routingPattern": "/",
          "page": {
            "id": "home"
          }
        }
    ```

    The `securityDomains` must include 1 or more domains defined in your app.



### Result

You can use the context-free task as an entry point to your Extend app or to access any page in your app. In Workday, you can also add the task to:

-   Announcements
-   Configurable Alerts
-   Dashboards
-   Journeys
-   Landing Pages
-   Shortcuts
-   To Dos
