App Builder provides 2 modes for creating Extend apps:

-   Code mode
-   Visual mode


In Code mode, you create app components by entering JSON directly in App Builder.

In Visual mode, you create app components by completing a simple form.

Example: to give a business object the name `MyBusinessObject` in code mode, you enter the JSON statement `"name": "MyBusinessObject"` in the App Builder JSON editor at the appropriate line. In Visual mode, you simply enter `MyBusinessObject` in the business object form's <b>Name</b> field.

You can switch between Code and Visual modes using the toggle switch in the upper right of the interface.

<b>Note:</b> Code mode is available for every app component except orchestrations. Visual mode is available for all model components:

-   Attachment
-   Business Object
-   Business Process
-   Report
-   Security Domain
-   Task
