layout: subsection
---

### Prerequisites

Create a Workday Extend or integration app.

### Context

You can trigger an orchestration from a Workday-delivered business process. Configuration is required in both the orchestration and the business process.

### Steps

1. Add an orchestration to your app. Select the Workday Business Process starting point.

Orchestration Builder creates an orchestration with Business Process Trigger and Orchestration End in place as starting and ending steps.

Note: The Business Process Trigger starting point requires you to use credentials, either the Integration System User (ISU) authentication type or the initiating user authentication type. See [Create Orchestration Credentials](/wcp_docs/uwh1613475703138.html) for instructions on how to set up an ISU credential.

2. On the Business Process Trigger step, click Configure Request. Specify the data that the orchestration expects to receive from the business process.
3. Save your application to App Hub and deploy it to your tenant.
4. In your tenant, edit the business process definition for the business process that triggers your orchestration. Add a step with the type Service and specify Orchestration Service.
5. On the new business process step, click Configure Orchestration Service.
6. Select the orchestration you want to trigger from the business process.
7. (Optional) Select the Advance business process step when orchestration completes check box to specify that the business process doesn't move on to its next step until the triggered orchestration completes.
8. Select the user who runs the orchestration. The default option is to run it as the same user who ran the previous business process step. You can also choose to run it as a different named user or as a user whose name is derived from a specified field.
9. Use the fields Key and Text Value/Value from Field to specify the data that you're passing to the orchestration.

This data must match the parameters you configured on your orchestration's Business Process Trigger step.
