### Prerequisites

Obtain proxy connection information from your IT administrator.

### Context

<a id="context_N10042_N10036_N10001"></a>
If your corporate network policy or firewall requires a proxy server that prevents the Workday Extend Plugin for IntelliJ from making network connections, then configure the IntelliJ HTTP proxy settings. The Workday Extend Plugin for IntelliJ uses the configured HTTP proxy settings for all connection requests. If you don't configure the HTTP proxy settings, the Workday Extend Plugin for IntelliJ connection requests will fail with a java.net.UnknownHostException.

<b>Note:</b> The Workday Extend Plugin for IntelliJ currently doesn't support SOCKS.

### Steps

1.  <a id="step_N10052_N1004F_N10036_N10001"></a>Open IntelliJ.
2.  <a id="step_N1005B_N1004F_N10036_N10001"></a>Select <b>File</b> &gt; <b>Settings</b>.
3.  <a id="step_N10070_N1004F_N10036_N10001"></a>On the <b>Settings</b> window, select <b>Appearance & Behavior</b> &gt; <b>System Settings</b> &gt; <b>HTTP Proxy</b>.
4.  <a id="step_N1008D_N1004F_N10036_N10001"></a>On the <b>HTTP Proxy</b> window, select <b>Manual proxy configuration</b>.
5.  <a id="step_N1009E_N1004F_N10036_N10001"></a>Select <b>HTTP</b>.
6.  <a id="step_N100AB_N1004F_N10036_N10001"></a>Configure the HTTP proxy settings.

7.  <a id="step_N1012D_N1007F_N10066_N10001"></a>(Optional) To enable authenticated requests, select <b>Proxy authentication</b> and input your proxy username and password.

After you save the HTTP proxy settings, you should be able to save your Workday Extend app to App Hub, and deploy the app to the tenant.
