Concept: Create Custom Reports Using Business Object Data
layout: subsection
---

To create a custom report that uses business object data, use the <b>Workday Extend App Manager</b> worklet to find the data source and the data source WQL alias created for the business object.

Workday derives the data source WQL alias from:

- The Reference ID of the app.
- The `name` of the `defaultCollection` attribute of the business object.

This naming convention ensures that the WQL alias for each data source remains unique for each tenant. Example: The `name` of the `defaultCollection` attribute for the Charity business object in the sample JSON is `charities`. The WQL alias of the <i>All Charities</i> data source is <i>charitableDonations_nkzjqw_charities</i>. Your WQL queries must use this value to access the data source.

Once you select a data source, you can use any of the report fields created on the business object in your custom report. The <b>Workday Extend App Manager</b> worklet displays:

- The report fields created on each business object.
- The web service alias and WQL alias of each field.
