Example: Attachment Object APIs in Presentation Components

Use the presentation components with Attachment Object APIs to get, create, update, and delete file attachments with the business objects in your app.

On a PMD, use a `fileUploader` widget to submit file attachments to the Attachment Object API as an outbound endpoint. The `fileUploader` widget also enables you to specify the `metadata` containing information about the file attachments. If the file metadata depends on user interaction with other widgets on the page, you can use the `onMultiPartSend` event of the outbound endpoint to modify the file metadata before submitting the endpoint.

The [Model Components: Attachments](https://wd5.myworkday.com/workday/learning/course/6827d2f43ff901c21dd08ebaea020296?record=fb90ba484eb3010ef00e705f5e560001&type=9882927d138b100019b928e75843018d) tutorial provides an illustrated overview and step-by-step examples of how to attach images and file data to business objects. See these sections of the tutorial:

- Creating a New Attachment Object - Contains these step-by-step activities and samples:

    - Create an attachment object. In this activity, the business object acts as the parent object that references the image attachment object. This relationship supports a single attachment per business object.
    - Add the Attachment Object APIs as outbound endpoints for creating, updating, and deleting image attachments.

- Uploading a File and Adding Metadata in a PMD - Contains a step-by-step activity that adds a `fileUploader` with the `metadata` attribute.
- Using Attachments to Store File Data - Contains these step-by-step activities and samples:

    - Create an attachment object that supports multiple instances linked to the same business object. In this activity, the attachment object acts as the parent object that references the business object. This relationship supports multiple attachments per business object.
    - Configure the `fileUploader` for multiple attachments.
    - Create an outbound endpoint that uses the `onMultiPartSend` event to submit the attachments.

- Modifying the Update Event Page to Include a fileUploader and attachmentList - Contains these step-by-step activities and samples:

    - Get all attachments for a specific business object. The attachment object endpoint uses the business object as a query parameter to filter the attachment instances.
    - Add a `fileUploader` with an `attachmentList` that displays the attachments for the business object.
