### Prerequisites

Access to the Workday Developer Site.

### Context

Workday provides Workday Extend customers with Workday Cloud Platform Development tenants. These tenants host Extend apps and API explorers for Graph APIs, REST APIs, and SOAP APIs.

### Steps

1.  From App Builder, click the icon in the upper right-hand corner of App Builder. The icon is a cylinder with a lightning bolt.
2.  Select one of these options:
    -   <b>API Explorers</b>: select this option to use API Explorer to discover and test Graph, REST, and SOAP APIs during app development.
    -   <b>App Builder</b>: select this option when accessing App Preview to test your Extend app code in a Development tenant.

3.  Select a Development tenant.
4.  (Optional) Select <b>Bypass single sign-on</b>.
5.  Click <b>OK</b> to connect.


### Result

Workday displays a colored dot next to the icon that indicates connection status:

-   Green dot: tenant connection is active.
-   Orange dot: tenant connection expires in 10 minutes.
-   No dot : tenant connection is inactive.
