### Prerequisites

-   An Integration System User (ISU) for the app. See [Assign Integration System Users to an App](/wcp_docs/GUID-72d57df4-c4ec-4825-a6e8-fdd596cf930e.html).
-   Pages with inbound or outbound endpoints.


### Context

The simplified ISU authentication scheme enables an Extend app to authenticate Workday APIs using an ISU account on the tenant. You can use the ISU authentication scheme with the inbound and outbound endpoints in the pages of your Extend app.

### Steps

1.  In App Builder, select the Site Metadata (SMD) and open it in <b>Code</b> mode.
2.  In `siteAuth` in the SMD, configure these required `authType` attributes:

3.  (Optional) If you’re using multiple ISUs, add separate ISU `authType` items and assign a unique id for each ISU.
4.  Open the page containing endpoints that use the ISU authentication. For each PMD endpoint you want to authenticate with the ISU, set its `authType` to the `id` of the `ISU` scheme in the SMD.
5.  Deploy the app to the tenant.


### Example

This sample `siteAuth` in the SMD contains the simplified ISU authentication scheme with the username of the ISU account:

This sample `endPoints` in the PMD contains an endpoint that uses the ISU authentication scheme:
