A <b>Profile Group</b> component enables you to group tasks and reports in Workday.

When you build a profile group, be mindful of the length of the <b>Name</b> and <b>Label</b> attributes. Different Workday profiles might have different character limits which can prevent:

-   The entire profile group name from displaying.
-   Context-free model tasks from rendering correctly.


We recommend that you test the app in your Development and Implementation tenants before you promote the app to your Production tenant.

## <a id="section_3"></a>Attributes

-   <b>Name</b>

    Enter a unique name.

-   <b>Label</b>

    (Optional) Enter a label to display for the profile group. If you don’t enter a value, Workday uses the <b>Name</b> value as the profile group. Example: The <b>Name</b> is `MyCharityProfile`. You don’t enter a value for <b>Profile</b>. In Workday, we display the profile group as <b>My Charity Profile</b>.

-   <b>Workday Profiles</b>

    Select a profile category. This is where you want to add the new model profile group to. Example: `WORKER_PROFILE`. (In the <b>View Profiles Available to Extend</b> report, this is the <b>Target Attribute Name</b> of the profile or composite view definition.)

-   <b>Allowed Tasks</b>

    Select 1 or more context-free model tasks to add to the profile group.

-   <b>Allowed Reports</b>

    Select 1 or more model reports to add to the profile group.



<b>Note:</b> The model profile group must contain at least 1 context-free model task or 1 report.
