## Purpose

Use this component to create 1 or more values for use later in your orchestration.

Example: incoming data includes `firstName` and `lastName` values but the endpoint you’re invoking only accepts a full name. You create a value named `fullName` that's equivalent to `firstName` and`lastName` separated by a space.

This component is available in these orchestration templates:

- Synchronous
- Asynchronous
- Business Process
- Home Card
- Integration System
- Custom Agent Action

## Properties

Provide a meaningful Reference Name for the step as it will appear in your orchestration.

Specify the Key and Value for a key/value pair.

Select the value's data Type. When you select AutoType, Orchestrate determines the data type for you and adjusts automatically if that type changes.

Note:

When a Create Values step creates key/value pairs whose values depend on each other, Orchestrate must process the pairs sequentially. Doing so incurs a performance cost. When the values created in a step are independent of each other, Orchestrate can process them in parallel, gaining efficiency.

As a result, when dealing with complex data transformations you should group the creation of independent key/value pairs separately from dependent values. No additional configuration is required to achieve the efficiency gain.
