### Context

You can add a parent Workday-delivered business process when you create or modify an Extend business process in App Builder.

To determine if you can use a Workday-delivered business process as the parent business process of an Extend subprocess, access the View Business Processes Available to Extend report in Workday.

### Steps

1. In App Builder Visual mode, create a new business process or select an existing business process from the left pane.
2. Click the Parent Business Processes tab.
3. Click Add Initiating Action.
4. Select 1 or more parent Workday-delivered business processes.

Note: You can add a combination of up to:

    - 5 initiating actions to an Extend subprocess.
    - 5 unique parent business processes to an Extend subprocess.

5. Type the Initiation Task Name. This is the name of the task that will display in the business process definition of the parent business process. The initiation task name must be unique in the parent business process configuration. Example: InitCharity2.

Note: We append (Workday Extend: App Name) to the task name in the business process definition to help you determine which task to select if the same task name is used in multiple Extend apps.

6. (Optional) Type the Label. This is the name of the task that will display in the tenant.
7. Type the Initiation Page Route. This is the path to the PMD page that will display in My Tasks for the initiating action of the Extend subprocess for processing users. The initiation page route must be unique in the parent business process configuration. Example: /initCharity2/{eventStepId}.

8. If you haven’t already done so, use App Manager on the Workday tenant to configure the business process security policy and business process definition for the Extend subprocess.
