Authenticate programmatically with Workday’s Developer Site, write scripts, automate lifecycle processes, and set up Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines with the Workday Developer Command Line Interface (WDCLI). The WDCLI is available for all Developer Site users and works with both Extend apps and Integration apps.

<b>Note:</b> Not all WDCLI commands complete successfully if you don’t have access to the Extend SKU.

Use the WDCLI to:

-   Upload apps to App Hub.
-   Download apps from App Hub.
-   Deploy apps to tenants.
-   Promote apps to Implementation, Sandbox, and Production tenants.
-   Authenticate programmatically with the Workday Developer platform using a system user account.


## <a id="section_1"></a>Limitations

-   System user accounts can’t access or execute tenant-level operations such as deploying an app, which still requires signing in with tenant credentials.
-   System user accounts are specific to a unique organization. You can’t use system user accounts across multiple organizations.
