title: Create Configuration Packages for Apps
layout: subsection
---

### Prerequisites

Security: These domains in the Implementation functional area:

- <i>OX for Non-Implementers</i>
- <i>Special OX Web Services</i>

### Context

A configuration package is a reusable tenant configuration. You create a configuration package by selecting specific instances of implementation types. With the package created, you can add it to a Workday app and then use Object Transporter to install (also known as migrate), the configuration package to another tenant. Configuration packages can contain up to 300 instances, including their dependencies.

### Steps

1. Sign in to the Development tenant in which you want to create a configuration package.
2. Access the <b>Create Configuration Package</b> task.
3. Select 1 or more object types to migrate from the <b>Implementation Type(s) to Migrate</b> drop-down list.

If you're migrating Integration Systems, see [Administrator Guide: Reference: Best Practices for Migrating Integrations with Object Transporter](https://doc.workday.com/admin-guide/en-us/manage-workday/tenant-configuration/implementation-tools/customer-central/object-transporter/nly1671744218041.html).

4. Complete the task:

<table><thead><tr><th> Option</th><th> Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><b>Add Implementation Type(s)</b></td><td>Click to add 1 or more additional types to the package.</td></tr><tr><td><b>Add/Edit Instances</b></td><td><p>Click to change instances for an implementation type.</p> <p>You can filter Instances based on 1 or more condition rules. When you install (migrate) a filtered configuration package on another tenant, Object Transporter includes all instances that match the condition rules. It includes even those instances that you create after you create the rules.</p></td></tr><tr><td><b>Remove</b></td><td>Click to remove an implementation type from the configuration package.</td></tr><tr><td><b>Done</b></td><td>Click to save the configuration package for later.</td></tr></tbody></table><br/>

### Result

You have a configuration package that contains a reusable tenant configuration to add to your app.
