The Related Skills REST API searches related skills for a given skill name.

## <a id="section_10"></a>Finding Related Skills

To find skills that are related to a given skill name, call this endpoint:

POST {baseURL}/related
```

In the request body, specify:

-   `skill_names` - A list of skill names.


To use skill names in a different locale, specify the `locale` query parameter. The returned skill names will use the same input locale. For valid locale values, see [Reference: Skills Cloud Locales](/wcp_docs/GUID-b3c75508-018f-4cce-9d4d-9718cf5dfc69-enHYPHENus.html).

This endpoint matches the skill name with the canonical names in Workday's Skills Cloud. The response includes a similarity score and a list with the top 10 related skill objects. Skills can be related in various ways, including how they might be similar in meaning, domain, or how often they’re mentioned in the same context.

The maximum number of results is 10.

-   The Related Skills API currently returns skill descriptions in English only.
-   The Related Skills v2 API supports maintained skills, but doesn't support external or crowdsourced skills.
