Skills Cloud REST APIs enable you to:

-   Extract and infer skills from text.
-   Compare skills between documents.
-   Use skills data to identify candidates with the right skills and analyze workforce skill inventories and gaps.


The results returned by the Skills Cloud REST APIs are dependent on the Workday Skills Cloud Ontology and machine learning models, and as such, might change over time. The Skills Cloud APIs might return different skills in the results for the same input. For a given skill ID, the field values in the skill object such as skill name, category, or description might change. Skill names can change but these updates don’t change the meaning of the skill. Example: Updates in letter casing, reformatting changes such as addition or deletion of special characters, or changes in spelling don’t change the meaning of the skill.
