## <a id="section_1"></a>Properties

Provide a meaningful <b>Reference Name</b> for the step as it will appear in your orchestration.

On the <b>General</b> tab, click <b>Add Event</b>. You can add multiple events.

Use Expression Builder to provide the <b>Event Bus Name</b>, specifying the event bus to which the event is sent.

In the <b>Detail</b> field, specify the JSON-encoded data for the event.

In the <b>Detail Type</b> field, specify a string that, in combination with the <b>Source</b> field, identifies the fields and values that appear in the <b>Detail</b> field.

In the <b>Source</b> field, specify the service that generates the event.

In the <b>AWS Resources</b> field, specify the resources affected by the event using their Amazon Resource Names.

On the <b>Auth</b> tab, use the <b>Authentication</b> drop-down menu to select a saved AWS Signature v4 credential or to use the default <i>Assumed Role</i>.

Use the <b>Settings</b> tab to configure these request and response details:

- Overall Timeout: the total time allowed for the operation.
- Connect Timeout: the time allowed for a client-server connection to establish.
- Response Timeout: the total time allowed for establishing a connection.
- Retry Settings: select a predefined Retry policy.

If the request is successful, the component outputs:

- HTTP Response Code: The HTTP status code returned by the API indicating the result of the request.
- HTTP Response Body: Empty for both successful and failed requests.
- Event ID: A string representing the unique identifier of the event that was put on the Amazon EventBridge, if applicable. This field may be empty if no event was put or there is a failure.
- Error Code: Empty.
- Error Message: Empty.
- Request ID: The `x-amzn-RequestId` header in the response corresponds to the `requestId` field in the output of the Amazon EventBridge PutEvent API call. It is a unique identifier for the request that can be used for troubleshooting purposes.
