Steps: Set Up ISU Authentication for Apps
layout: subsection
---

### Context

<a id="contsetupisu"></a>
You can use an Integration System User (ISU) account to authenticate access to data as a system user instead of a human user. The App Manager task in your tenant enables you to assign an ISU to your app and create an API client for that ISU. Thereafter, you can configure the ISU authentication in orchestrations and pages that call Workday APIs.

For information and guidelines about the ISU authentication, see [Concept: ISU Authentication](/wcp_docs/GUID-cb3e0fcd-bb97-4005-8d10-3a02e88dab71-enHYPHENus.html).

### Steps

1. [Create Integration System Users for Apps](/wcp_docs/GUID-3d6a3ac3-f03a-4ab6-bd9c-a8571eaaf5e0.html).
2. [Assign Integration System Users to an App](/wcp_docs/GUID-72d57df4-c4ec-4825-a6e8-fdd596cf930e.html).
3. (For Extend or Integration apps with orchestrations) [Create Orchestration Credentials](/wcp_docs/uwh1613475703138.html).
4. (For Extend apps with pages) [Configure ISU Authentication in Presentation Components](/wcp_docs/GUID-f4c6727e-f363-4786-a90d-ecc30f062872.html).

### Result

The ISU account can successfully run Workday APIs called by app components.
