  Steps: Create Integration Apps

### Prerequisites

- Get access to the Workday Developer site.

### Context

Workday Orchestrate for Integrations enables you to design, build, manage, and share integrations between Workday and external systems. The central Orchestrate for Integrations tool is Orchestration Builder, a drag-and-drop development environment that enables you to create complex workflows without writing code. Integrations powered by Workday Orchestrate for Integrations are called integration apps. When you've created an integration app, you can use the tools on the Workday Developer Site to test, and verify your integration apps across multiple environments to ensure that they're working properly before you release them to production.

### Steps

1. <a id="step_N10054_N10051_N1001F_N10001"></a>On the Workday Developer Site home page, click <b>Create an Integration App</b>.
2. Select an option:

<table><thead><tr><th>Option</th><th>Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><b>Copy from App Catalog</b></td><td>Make a copy of an existing integrations app and amend it to suit your requirements. <p>Select the app you want to copy. Amend the copy's <b>Name</b> and <b>Reference ID</b> as required and, optionally, provide a <b>Description</b>.</p></td></tr><tr><td><b>Upload a Zip File</b></td><td>Upload an existing integrations app that's been saved locally as a Zip file. <p>Provide a <b>Name</b>, a <b>Reference ID</b> , and, optionally, a <b>Description</b>. Select the Zip file.</p></td></tr><tr><td><b>Start from Scratch</b></td><td>Create a blank app. <p>Provide a <b>Name</b>, a <b>Reference ID</b> , and, optionally, a <b>Description</b>.</p></td></tr></tbody></table><br/>

3. Click <b>Create and Edit</b> to move directly to orchestration creation. Alternatively, click <b>Create and Go to Overview</b> to open the <b>Overview</b> tab of your app's home page. Here you can add 2 types of components, attributes and orchestrations.

    See:

    - [Steps: Create Integration App Orchestrations](/wcp_docs/GUID-e7ef69dd-40cf-4679-8b24-ce49404b58ec.html).
    - [Create Integration App Attributes](/wcp_docs/GUID-7c31d30e-c5cc-491c-9dff-0601d4d8ce7c.html).

4. <a id="step_N100F2_N10046_N10028_N10001"></a>Click <b>Validate</b> to validate your app's code.

You can validate your app's code at any time before you save your code to App Hub, enabling you to avoid build errors during deployment.

This validation includes schema, semantic, and syntax validations. Orchestration Builder doesn't perform some schema validations in real time.

You can drag the top of the validation pane up or down to expand or contract the pane.

5. <a id="step_N10107_N10046_N10028_N10001"></a>Click <b>Save to App Hub</b>.

<b>Save to App Hub</b> validates and saves your app's code to App Hub and generates a build log.

6. Deploy your app to your Implementation tenant. Test it there, then promote it through the app lifecycle, and launch the integration.

See [Steps: Deploy, Install, and Launch Integration Apps](/wcp_docs/GUID-62b10bf6-9389-41cc-b4ac-ff3ce720df36.html).
