Upload images to your Extend app that you can reference in [Card](/wcp_docs/GUID-776e1cfd-762e-4422-a7da-45c2b349d24c-enHYPHENus.html)s and [Page Configuration Card](/wcp_docs/GUID-c066f111-6fd4-4b72-9567-8fedf220ad9f-enHYPHENus.html)s.

Consider these guidelines:

-   Images must be 524 KB or smaller.
-   For best results, use images that are 56 x 56 pixels. All images will be resized to this dimension.
-   You can have a maximum of 20 images per app.
-   You can't reference images in an [imageCard](/wcp_docs/khx1655850528180.html) Page Configuration Card type.
-   The Workday Extend Plugin for IntelliJ does not support Images.


## <a id="section_1"></a>Uploading Images

To upload images:

1.  In App Builder, open the <b>Assets</b> section in the Components panel.
2.  If you’re uploading an image for the first time, click <b>Upload Image</b>.

    For additional images, click <b>Upload</b>.

3.  Enter the <b>Image Name</b>.
4.  Select the image file. Valid image file types:

    -   JPEG
    -   JPG
    -   PNG
    -   SVG

5.  Click <b>Upload</b>.


## <a id="section_2"></a>Using Images in Card Headers

To reference an uploaded image in a card header:

-   In <b>Visual</b> mode, select the uploaded image from the <b>Icon</b> dropdown list.
-   In <b>Code</b> mode, specify the image name in the `icon` attribute. Example: `"icon": "myImage.jpg"`.
