### Prerequisites

-   An Extend app.

    If you want to create a new app, see [Create Extend Apps Using App Builder](/wcp_docs/xer1651695264256.html).

-   App security domains.

    In App Builder, add appropriate security domains that you'll configure for the Card Tenant Settings. Use App Manager to set up the security policy for the security domains used by the Card Tenant Setting.



### Context

You can create an Extend Card in App Builder and then add the card to various entry points in Workday including Workday Home Page, Workday-delivered Hubs, Search, and Journeys. You can validate and preview the card in App Builder before you save your app to App Hub and deploy it to a Development tenant.

When you add an Extend Card, ensure that you select the <b>Card</b> type and <i>not</i> [Page Configuration Card](/wcp_docs/GUID-c066f111-6fd4-4b72-9567-8fedf220ad9f-enHYPHENus.html).

### Steps

1.  In App Builder, add a <b>Card</b> component.
2.  Enter a unique name for the Card.

    App Builder adds a task entry in the App Metadata, which includes the card route. You’ll need the card route when you add a Card Tenant Setting.

3.  Build the content of your <b>Card</b> in Visual or Code mode.

4.  Add a <b>Card Tenant Setting</b> component.
5.  Enter a unique name for the Card Tenant Setting.

    The name must use the PascalCase.

6.  Build the content of your <b>Card Tenant Setting</b> in Visual or Code mode.

7.  Click <b>Validate</b>.
8.  Click <b>Save and Deploy</b>.
