title: Inspect Edit Pages in App Preview

### Prerequisites

An Extend app with edit pages that you'd like to debug while using App Preview.

### Context

Page Inspector helps you debug edit pages, enabling you to inspect runtime values of built-in variables, inbound endpoint data, and tag attributes while interacting with the page. You can also enter a PMD script and quickly view the script result.

### Steps

1. In App Builder, select the edit page you want to debug and open App Preview.
2. On the top right of App Preview, click the <b>Inspect Page</b> icon (![](GUID-00517db7-ab5c-46ec-af56-f0ff8b14b57f-enHYPHENus.png)).

    App Preview displays Page Inspector at the bottom of the page.

    <b>Note:</b> Note: You can use Page Inspector in App Preview only with edit pages.

3. On Page Inspector, you can inspect an item from any of these categories:

<table><thead><tr><th> Option</th><th> Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><b>Predefined App Variables</b></td><td>The predefined app variables that are available to the edit page.</td></tr><tr><td><b>Inbound Endpoints</b></td><td>The inbound endpoints defined in the edit page.</td></tr><tr><td><b>Tags</b></td><td>The PMD tags defined in the edit page. The list includes only tags with an <code>id</code>. If you add a missing <code>id</code> to a PMD tag, reopen Page Inspector to see it in the list. <p><b>Note:</b> The list doesn’t include the <code>id</code>’s of tags inside template-based tags such as the <code>grid</code> and <code>panelList</code>. You can select the <code>id</code> of the parent tag, such as the <code>grid</code> id. If the grid is too big, you can select <b>Input</b> and enter a PMD script that inspects a specific <code>cellTemplate</code> value. Example:</p> ```
gridId.rows[0].column1.value
    ```
</td></tr><tr><td><b>PMD Scripting</b></td><td>Enter a PMD script that you want to debug. The <code><% %></code> notation is optional.</td></tr></tbody></table><br/>
4.  Click <b>Inspect</b>.
### Result
Page Inspector displays the value of the item that you selected or the PMD script result.
